Odin's Story
 Hi, my name is Jackie Upwood - owner/trainer of Odin, a beautiful grey newf. Odin is a fantastic worker and is happiest when working, playing with other dogs, swimming and cuddling with me. Odin is 4 now and he is the first of my newfs that I have trained for tiltles. He has his WD, WRD, RN,CGC titles so far and we are working on WRDX and Tracking and Advanced Rally. The first Newf club meeting we ever attended he wowed all the members with his retreiving skills. We have won a Sportsmans working honor twice. At the last water test the judges bought something from our brown bag table and presented it to us, stating that they were so impressed on our team work and his attention to my every jesture. I work fulltime and Odin comes to work with me, we walk home for lunch and walk home after work each day. I am blessed.
I bought Odin from Pam January of 2004 he was born 11/10/03. Odin is an incredable worker and has no health problems and he has alot of energy. In fact I took him to Dr. Bookbinder a newf specialist for an ouchy while we were training for our WRDX. He said Odin was one of the fittest and strongest newfs he had ever examined. We work alot. His coat is beautiful and he has one of the prettiest heads I have ever seen very regal. Many people have told me what a handsome boy he is. He has a beautiful prance. I am still in contact with Pam and will buy my next newf from her. She gave me all the appropriate paperwork and contract. I did travel to her house to pick up Odin and everthing was fine, that was before her new building too.

 Hi Pam,
Wanted to let you know how we are doing. Odin earned his RN
Rally novice title in Colorado. We took 2nd place Monday, 3rd place
Tuesday and 2nd place Wednesday and our title. We are water training
currently for WRDX with the president of Newf Club of America and his wife.
Had a great 4ht Training with them and some others, one was the author
of In the Company of Newfies. At one point during
the training the husband of the author Rhoada Lerman threw a dog toy
out into the water it went way farther than he had expected, his newf
refused to go get it. My friend Linda who organized this great gathering
told him to ask me to have Odin get it. The man asked me if my dog
would go out and get it. I said sure we went to the edge of the water, I
talked to Odin and marked the general direction and told him to go out
and find it, and he did. They all were amazed and said Odin was great
and the hero. My heart beemed and Odin showed me again what an
incredible being he is. Thought you would like to know this.
We have started
Tracking lessons also and he is very smart and is taking to it very
well. Thank you Pam for Odin. He is such a part of me and is making
things come to me that only he could create.
